Feng Shui Life Compass iPhone App User Guide

Getting Started

Start by entering your name, birth date, time of birth (if known) and gender. The Life Compass will calculate your Gua number and personal element.

You can add birth dates for your family and friends any time you want with the People screen in More. Switch among the people you have stored by touching the arrows at the bottom of the Focus and Eight screens.

Next use the Focus compass to set your intention and find what direction to face in order to receive the favorable Qi (energy) you asked for! This favorable qi, coupled with your intention, truly helps activate your goals. You can also share your best directions with friends via built in email and FaceBook connections.

Change a person's focus (Fortune Point) at any time by touching Edit in the title bar.

Additional Screens

Several additional screens (accessed from the tab bar or More) are available for purchase using the in-app store. These compass screens use advanced Feng Shui calculations such as:

Eight Directions shows a 360° view of all types of energy around you (favorable as well as challenging) so you can arrange your environment such that qi will support your intentions and not hinder you. Eight also includes a cool augmented reality view of the energies overlaid on video you can watch and email!
Eight Mansions Ba Zhai calculates the primary type of qi in each sector of a house. This helps you visualize the energetic nature of each room in a space, to know which rooms support you and your family best when used as the kitchen, bedroom, office or baby's room.
Flying Stars helps you find the best house for yourself or your family by displaying a "high resolution" view (3x more accurate than Mansions) of energy patterns in a building based on when it was constructed and how it is oriented. Touch each sector and see what the Mountain and Water star combinations mean and how to remedy or enhance them.

Using the Augmented Reality view in Eight

To activate the augmented reality view in Eight simply touch the "eye" icon on the right side of the compass. (If you are not running the latest iPhone software or your device does not have a camera this icon will not be present.)

Hold the iPhone vertically and you will see Fortune Points that you are facing as you rotate the compass. Touch the action icon at the bottom of the screen to snap the picture so you can send it by email.

One idea for you to consider: keep images showing your intentions in a vision board to reomind yourself and the Universe of your goals.

Restoring purchased screens after a reinstall of the app

Once you purchase it, a screen is permanently unlocked and fully functional so you can email results, post to your FaceBook account, and use all other features. Just like all iTunes purchases, they are automatically restored (at no cost) if you ever delete and reinstall your app.

If you ever see an already purchased screen display the Purchase button again there is an easy remedy. Just "purchase" them again. Don't worry, the Apple store will recognize that you have ALREADY PAID and you will then see a dialog saying "You already own this, would you like to download again?" Touch "yes" and the app and any purchased options will be restored at no further charge to you.

A Better Direction for a Better Life

With the Life Compass app on your iPhone you are ready to find your Fortunate Energies in every situation of your life. Now you will instantly know which directions in your environment offer you the best possible support for your personal Success, Relationships, Health and Spiritual Growth.

Feng Shui begins with a mathematical compass calculation based on your birth date called a Gua number. When you orient yourself in your surroundings according to your favorable directions as determined by your Gua number, you invite the energy of the Universe to support and assist you. The Life Compass uses complex traditional Compass Feng Shui methods to instantly calculate the results for you.

So how do you change your environment to take advantage of favorable energies? Visualize that while sitting or standing qi comes in thru your eyes and while laying down qi comes in thru the top of your head (Crown Chakra or Sahasrara). This means you should set up your desk, computer, exercise equipment, etc. so you will be "looking at" of the kind of qi you desire while you spend time doing this activity. You should set up a bed so the headboard is facing the kind of qi you desire to be flowing into you at night.

Space and Time Feng Shui for Houses and Buildings

Eight Mansion and Flying Star Feng Shui calculations use the facing direction of a building. To use these compasses, begin by standing inside the front door looking out (in most cases this is correct, but for some buildings it is where the most light and energy comes in, such as windows on a beach house even if this is the opporsite side from the front door). This "facing" compass reading can then be "locked" by touching the lock icon. Once the facing direction is measured and locked, the Life Compass can then be moved around without the compass changing. Screens such as Mansions and Stars can be very helpful when you are 'house hunting'. As you visit each house you can use these compass screens to evalutate compatibility with your family and determine whether this house is beneficial for prosperity and health according to Feng Shui.

Flying Star Feng Shui

Xuan Kong Flying Star Feng Shui is a complex and powerful discipline that can create an astrological chart to analyze positive and negative energies in building. The Stars screen automatically generates time feng shui charts and can provide a wealth of information about the overall chart configuration for each facing direction as well as interpretations and suggested cures for the energies of each of the nine palaces in a building.

Touch the "info" icon to see explanations of the over all energy, and touch each square (called a "palace" in Feng Shui) to see expanded information about that sector of the house.

Use the email results tool from the action menu to send an email with all the information about each house so you can easily review them later. Post to your FaceBook page to share your house hunting with friends!

Chart Orientations for Stars and Mansions

If the Locked Chart Orientation in Settings is set to Rotate and the compass is locked, then the facing direction remains locked but the chart "rotates" as you turn the compass. This keeps the sectors on the chart "pinned" to their actual location in the house so you can easily see what is "in front of you" or "to my right" as you move around in the location.

Google Mapping in Stars

Another great feature of the Life Compass is the option to automatically add the GPS location of a house or building to the Flying Stars email. The GPS coordinates are linked to google maps so you can easily locate the house in map, satellite or street views. To enable the GPS functions go to Settings and set Share Location to 'Yes'.
